My Pond / Critter pics
A pic of my original pond


We had fish, lots of herons, muskrats etc. On 9/7/99 the city which has an easement on the property came through and did this to it... (see pic below)
This is the pond NOW - taken from exact same spot as shot above...

Heron making a strike... he gets a frog






Then he catches a small fish... (you can see it in his beek)



I startled the heron which flew away so I started concentrating on this guy
we've seen 4-5 of them at once, they're nuts to watch! This one just pulled a tuft of
grass from my backyard (they use it for nesting).



I see something move on the opposite bank and zoom in on this scene!



Later they venture into the creek...  TWELVE DUCKLINGS!
they've been around for days now.
ALL of the above wildlife shots were taken over the course of
one hour of the same day all before noon (can't wait until after lunch ;-)

Other critters we've seen but didn't get pics of...
A Fox, A Turkey, 7 Deer at once, 5 King-fishers at once, Green heron(s) often 2 at once,
Duck frenzy (a couple years ago we counted 44 in the small pond at once.
(they congregate before flying south in the fall.)
Also WOOD DUCKS! and their ducklings weeks later.
